The Josephites, a Catholic religious organization, is applying current research in creating sensory-rich, child-centered, corporate worship through music, art, drama, and dance in Catholic parishes in underserved African American communities. Grant activities include cultivating formative faith practices in local congregations for children and families, enlivening the Sunday morning worship experience by providing age-appropriate content and encouraging sensory-rich opportunities for service and participation, empowering parents and children with the skills to carry faith practices home and teaching congregations to host intergenerational worship space. This program will serve approximately 33 Black Catholic parishes over the life of the grant.
