NURTURING CHILDREN THROUGH WORSHIP & PRAYER

Princeton Theological Seminary

The Crossroads Project

PROJECT:

Abigail Visco Rusert

CONTACT:
LOCATION:

Princeton, NJ, USA

This endeavor seeks to invite congregations to expand their worship and prayer practices to center and engage disabled children of color, reflecting a theologically grounded understanding of intersectional identities in the body of Christ. PTS host two training and storytelling events for congregational leaders and establish a network for leaders and parents that incorporates theological reflection and practical resources. Additionally, it will develop an online training program for congregational leaders and create two specialized programs tailored to Black and African American congregations and predominantly immigrant congregations. PTS will also conduct research with congregational partners to listen to and amplify the voices of disabled children of color, along with their families and lay leaders. Finally, it will produce a children's book or book series. Through these efforts, the project hopes to serve 106 congregations over the course of the grant.
