Holy Family Institute

The Artful Spirits program aims to reinvigorate children’s participation in worship, emphasizing arts integration within historic black churches. Beginning with five pilot congregations, including Ebenezer Baptist Church, HFI will implement intergenerational worship teams, creative liturgies featuring drama, dance, and visual arts, and Bible story reenactments to create dynamic, immersive worship experiences. An annual Community Revival Arts Festival will highlight these efforts, fostering broader participation. Partnerships with HDAT and Point Park University ensure high artistic standards through workshops and mentorship. By year three, the program will grow to twelve congregations using a phased cohort model, with pilot congregations mentoring new participants and digital resources supporting sustainable implementation.
