Hispanic Bible College, a non-denominational educational institution serving Latino congregations in the Chicago area, is enhancing its current certificate in Children's Ministry to lay leaders within Spanish speaking churches. Congregations and participants will learn how to design and implement a relevant intergenerational worship and prayer service that engages children in their congregations through creative Bible teaching, use of language, dance, music, and culture. Grant activities include inviting 30 Hispanic pastors and lay- leaders to assess the ways that they currently involve children in corporate worship services in their congregations, adapting the current Children's ministry Certificate at Hispanic Bible College to reflect insights gained from assessments with local congregations, promote the nurturing of children's spiritual wellbeing through worship and prayer among 75 Hispanic churches, recruiting 250 men and women involved in children's ministry in local churches to acquire the knowledge and the skills to minister to children efficiently, instructing parents, caregivers, teachers, pastors and lay leaders on how to integrate faith conversations into practical lessons and implement creative strategies for children's ministry through FB curriculums, developing an alumni association that generates further training opportunities and network with at least another 25 Hispanic churches, and convening 3 conferences during the span of the program to bring churches and stakeholders together for workshops and training.
