The graduate school of theology and ministry in the Roman Catholic tradition, is strengthening and expanding the school’s partnership with Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (CGS). This partnership will substantially impact children’s liturgical participation in congregations throughout the U.S. Aquinas Institute to redesign and relaunch its online CGS Heritage Course. It will run two online segments, each with 35 catechists. The Institute will also reinvigorate its Master of Arts in Pastoral Studies program with a concentration in Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (MAPS-CGS). Through regular faculty, staff, and board development opportunities, a four-year post-doctoral faculty fellowship for emerging liturgical scholars interested in CGS will be created. To mark the 20th anniversary of partnership with CGS, Aquinas Institute will host a Liturgy and the Child symposium to invite MAPS-CGS alumni and liturgical scholars into intentional conversation about the role of children in liturgy.
