CHRISTIAN PARENTING & CAREGIVING

City Seminary of New York

Faith and Families

PROJECT:
CONTACT:

LOCATION:

New York, NY

The Faith and Families program will strengthen the spiritual formation of children in congregations across the New York City region, with special attention to intergenerational faith-sharing activities in immigrant church communities. City Seminary will establish listening circles in congregations to examine multi-generational parenting and caregiving practices in the families of recent immigrants and identify best practices for transmitting faith to children in these contexts. Drawing on insights from these conversations, the program will provide small grants to up to 30 congregations to implement innovative projects to support parents and caregivers. An advisory group comprising parents, pastors, youth and young adults will guide the effort.
