Christian Parenting & Caregiving Initiative

The Christian Parenting and Caregiving Initiative seeks to help parents and caregivers more clearly understand and articulate their faith so that they can share their faith more confidently with their children. CME will train the nine Episcopal Districts’ Christian Education directors to work alongside congregational staff as they launch the program in each district. The initiative will emphasize prayer, scripture readings, bible stories, songs, spoken word, rituals, outreach, and community engagement. CME will engage parents in structured listening sessions and spiritual retreats that focus on helping parents share their faith in the home, learn classic Christian practices and create new Christian practices that fortify faith for a more integrated spirituality that addresses the challenges faced by African Americans.
